Be careful which site you visit
If there is one thing I learnt about Islam and the Internet is that you must be VERY careful which site you visit. My poor husband had to put up with many of my frantic calls when I was a new Muslim when I would read something not so good and then he would carefully and ever so patiently explain…. It’s not true and the site you went is a actually a fake.
When I was new to Islam I ventured into some sites, and they actually were written by some non Muslims who are against Islam (I won’t name their religion). And please for God’s sake stay away for those nasty chat rooms including the Islam ones around the net, I once ventured into one on Yahoo and it was nothing but a bunch of people who were fighting each other and abusing Islam. I realised some people just come to fight and it looked pretty nasty and did nothing to help me. In fact you can meet some pretty scary individuals…eeek. Good luck if you find something that’s genuine. I’m sure they are out there. I just don’t know of them yet.

Tajweed Podcast: In English or French. Tajweed is proper pronunciation of Quran in Arabic. This site does this in a series of short, engaging lectures.
Islam Online – Moderate and good information that answers many people’s questions
